Handcrafted birdhouses now at Pura Vida! Welcome Mimi and Al Mahegan.

Posted by

I'm proud to announce a new addition to the Pura Vida family of local artisans! Please welcome Mimi and Al Mahegan of Westwood, MA. They create these wonderful bird houses from recycled wood pallets. Al is the builder and Mimi is the painter. The wood is either Oak, Poplar, or Spruce and coated to withstand the elements. Mimi adds her creative touch by painting various decorations on each house. They also feature stainless steel screws, removable panel for cleaning, and copper hooks. They purposefully don't have a 'stick' by the entry hole as they are made for song birds. Not having the landing stick prevents bigger birds from messing with the nests. Welcome Mimi and Al!!

From Mimi, "Loving nature, gardening and our home, we collaborate our talents (ingenuity, woodworking and artistry) in turning found objects (from discards, the shore and the woods) into unique, usable, artistic features for our home, gardens, and friends. This brings us great joy!"
